Summary
Saying he wishes he could accept her invitation to come to Brantwood but his work will keep him at home; saying he has "complete strangers asking to sketch lately & in some quiet dell or grove one is suddenly conscious of a piece of bad perspective;" saying that "There is a good excitement now, because a spoonful or two of carbide has been 'released' so we shall be able to have some gas here & there instead of groping our way about the house."
