Summary
Thanking her for her letter and for sending a copy of the Rev. E. St. Clair Weeden's book; wondering "at what cost" the book was published; saying "it is so sycophantic in tone that no one can be taken in by such rubbish;" adding that he has an American Admiral and his daughter staying with him.
