Summary
Reporting that he has just learned that Constable's firm was bankrupt and that his house "must stop payment" on Scott's accounts; noting that Scott "will be greatly embarrassed" by this but hoping that he may "work through without great ultimate loss;" mentioning that "Mr. Hogarth who manages the matters of Ballantyne & Co., and knows the whole affairs personally will explain them to you."
