Part of a large collection of letters from James Anthony Froude to John Ruskin and Joan Severn. Letters in this collection have been described individually in separate catalog records; see collection-level record for more information.
The closing and the signature have been excised from the top of p. 3 but a manuscript copy, in an unknown hand, of the closing and the signature appear in the center of p. 3., with a parenthetical note beneath the signature saying "The original given as an autograph."
This collection was part of Helen Gill Viljoen's large bequest of John Ruskin-related material (formerly MA 3451).
Written on stationery embossed "The Molt, / Salcombe /Kingsbridge."

Summary
Asking "Can it be possible that your cousin [Ruskin] has recovered? The papers say so;" saying he has been unwell but that he hopes to "try a sea voyage" and will leave for Onslow Gardens shortly to prepare for the trip; asking to hear from her about Ruskin's condition and to pass along to him his "warmest love."
