Summary
Expressing sympathy for the continuing sorrow she must be feeling at the loss of Ruskin; offering to contribute her letters from Ruskin to any future biography of him; saying "There are some lovely things in them--written in his lighter moods--very characteristic--light bright bits of thought--that nobody else in the world could have felt or expressed; expressing her concern that she [Joan Severn] and Arthur have the flu; telling of her son and grandson's desires to volunteer for the army; asking if her boys "have caught the war fever. It is as prevalent & as infectious as influenza."
