Part of a collection consisting of 64 letters from Sir Edward and Lady Georgiana Burne-Jones primarily to John Ruskin, Joan Severn, and their circle, dated ca. 1864 to 1918. Collection also contains copies of seven letters of Lady Burne-Jones to Ruskin from 1862, and three related envelopes. Letters in this collection have been described individually in separate catalog records; see collection-level record for more information.

Summary
Hoping to arrange a time to see him; saying, in a postscript, "I want a nice evening with you & me & Joan [Severn] & Georgie [Georgiana Burne-Jones], in which we may spend all the time in laughter...I should like for a change to begin with a noisy evening and end with a peaceful morning;" adding, after the postscript, a self-portrait in ink, sitting on a stool in front of an enormous easel, brush and palette in hand, with silhouettes of many other easels surrounding him.
