Summary
Enclosing his cheque for one pound as his contribution to the gift [picture of the Pass of Splungen] to Ruskin; saying that the Severns know of the gift as they had showed him "the newspaper paragraph about it, but they have kept it secret from the Professor;" saying that he saw Ruskin today and he is doing well but "rather inclined to be despondent about himself;" concluding that he anticipates that Dr. Simon's talking to him "will be the best remedy."
