Summary
Thanking her for her letters and saying that he could not write as "I was getting worse and worse every day and did not care to say so nor the contrary;" saying he is "within reach of Geneva and where nobody will ever think of looking for me;" adding that "head and back and breast and teeth--and everything were failing, altogether, and unless I had not this quiet, they couldn't have gone on much longer."
