Summary
Asking why she would paint from American creepers when they "won't stay to be painted;" telling her that he and Rossetti have a "nice actress to sit to us; has been immensely pretty: but the paint spoils the cheeks; (no more of the fearful bloom on them) and she says 'bew-teeful';" saying that he met a "poor little lady of the opera at Turin--hearing the world was going hard with her I had sent her a little present--the result of which is, I've got two begging letters from her since--which I should be delighted to answer, but they're so ill spelt I can't read them."
