Summary
Saying he is sending her a tree branch for her to draw; instructing her on how to place it on a table and how to draw it; saying he will also send over a stone for her to draw; questioning her comment that she never does anything but from love or duty; saying that "I love Turner but I work at my engravings from him quietly so, for two hours together, with no emotion but that of dull content and acquiescence in necessity.... The love ought to prompt and to maintain the patience. But it is patience that does the work."
