Summary
Chiding her for her lack of patience with regard to his response to the questions she asked him in a previous letter; saying that if she "had patience to read very little of my book you would find all answered in them;" saying he should have come to visit her; discussing, at length, all the demands on his time from workmen, his students, requests for lectures on natural history from Kensington and from the Architectural Society for a promised lecture in January; saying that his publisher is "restive because I can't tell them anything about the fifth volume of Modern Painters;" saying he has a bad cold and is "fit for nothing."
