Summary
Regretting that she will be unable to travel to Scotland after she leaves Paris on the 15th; remarking that he has been "terribly distressed at poor Byron's death," and discussing the poet at length; discussing Lockhart's novels; describing a lively visit with old Lord Haddington, but stopping the discussion because "I am getting into scandal."
