Saying he is curious to see Moore's poem [Lalla Rookh], and praising his songs as "exquisitely beautiful;" noting that Moore "has not been very fortunate in being so much in fashionable life where a man who frequents [there?] without fortune or rank is very apt to lose his time without adding to his reputation," and saying he is glad that the poem "is likely to fix his independence;" mentioning that his Lord of the Isles is proving to be very popular and hoping she received her copy; noting that Salt the Abyssinian traveller is visiting and mentioning the Duke of Buccleuch and his daughter Lady Anne Scott.
