Notes
Part of a collection of letters from John Ruskin to Thomas Richmond. Letters in this collection have been described individually in separate catalog records; see collection-level record for more information.
Signed "Your affect. Godfather."
The year of writing is inferred from the contents of the letter and also from the author's dating of "Sunday 15th"; June 15, 1873 is a Sunday.
This letter could have been written to either John Ruskin Richmond or Philip Burne-Jones; both were Ruskin's godsons, however, given that this letter is included in a collection of Ruskin letters to Thomas Richmond, it is most probably written to John Ruskin Richmond.
