Summary
Describing his travels with [James] Madison and mentioning forts and locations that "have been scenes of blood from a very early part of our history;" describing in detail the landscape and plant life of Upstate New York and around the Finger Lakes and mentioning some unusual squirrels; stating that they have about 450 miles left on their tour, but expecting to arrive in Philadelphia on the 20th or 21st of that month.
