Notes
Labeled "No. 54" and "Dec 23 1810" on p. 1, possibly in J. G. Lockhart's hand.
Part of a collection of letters from Sir Walter Scott to various recipients. Items in this collection have been described individually in separate catalog records; see collection-level record for more information.
Scott has clearly dated this letter 23 December 1810 following his signature, but Lockhart does not give a date and Grierson (v. 2) erroneously dates the letter to [May-June 1810]. Grierson (v. 12) prints the letter under the correct date.
