Thanking her for her letter and with it the signatures of all of the society; telling her he is feeling much better; assuring her she should not be "vexed" that members have left the society and that it will "enlarge steadily;" enclosing stories of an elephant and a leopard; saying he is becoming quite fond of his pet seagull.
