Summary
Thanking him for the receipt of his correspondent's letter, "of which pages 5-8 are of extreme value;" requesting some of the granite and sands described and offering to meet all expenses of shipping; offering to pay Damon or his correspondent any price for "fine carnelians or the like;" indicating that "the thing I want most of all, from anywhere, is granite with chalcedonic or other agatescent formations in situ--and fine chalcedonies from anywhere;" asking, in a postscript, if the shells were returned safely; inquiring, in a second postscript, as to the amount he previously sent to Damon for "the big group of emeralds", noting that he needs the price for the Museum catalogue.
