Apologizing for his delay in writing, noting that the Reped farm-house has required a great deal of "adjusting;" thanking him for the favor of his letter introducing Daniel Scott to W. Blackburn; referring to the recent publication of "Sir Tristrem" and mentioning responses to the third volume of his Minstrelsy of the Scottish Border; asking for his response to "Sir Tristrem" and wondering when he will visit.
