Further inquiries and comments into the publication of his letters, including mentioning the admission of Mrs. Whiteway that it "has long been the practise of the Dean [Swift] & herself, to open each others Letters, & to stop some, both to & from him"; asking his opinion of the letters, and "whether there be any thing offensive" in his own; indicating his desire that he burn the volume if it contains anything inappropriate, and that he will pursue prosecution of the publisher; returning Mrs. Whiteway's letter which he had previously forwarded to him.
