Discussing at length Mr. Pellenc; asking him to keep him updated on the progress of the troops of Comte de Clerfayt; informing him of the position of the French army; saying that he is feeling increasingly pessimistic about the fate of the French royal family [Louis XVI]; telling him that the “French system” is not successful in Belgium where royalism is on the rise.
