Summary
Discussing the letters he has received from her; expressing his relief that she believes the sentiments in his letters rather than taking them for raillery; describing his heart as "not like a great Ware-house stored only with [his] own Goods, .... but [with] every inch of it let out into Lodgings for its friends"; saying, "I foresee that the further you go from me, the more freely I shall write"; asking how she can be persuaded to return to England; noting that he can't think of England as his country since he "can't call a foot of paternal Earth [his] owne"; speaking again of joining her in Italy; mentioning [Jean-Baptiste] Rousseau, [Joseph] Addison, and [William] Congreve.
