Summary
Discussing the matters of tenancy and land use referred to in the autograph copy of a letter to him from his tenant Joseph Barnes which he has written above this letter to Lyde; discussing various tenants, including one Joseph Hanny who owes rent for "three half years"; noting that he is lenient with his tenants about when they pay their rent because he does not want them to sell their goods at a loss, but emphasizing that "three half years is too much to be in arear"; arguing that letting tenants get behind on their rent "does but mak them carelesse and ill husbands and more unwilling as well as more unable to pay when the debt is increased" [sic].
