Rescheduling his appointment with Miss Croker for two o'clock the following day. Stating that he is obliged to receive Sir Walter Scott at her appointed time, and citing Sir Walter's short stay in London and the necessity of taking a "complete sitting." Regretfully declining an invitation to dine on Friday, mentioning that he is engaged at the Royal Academy.
