Summary
Promising to write daily, and reporing that she begins this letter only an hour after they have parted at the Salisbury stage. Mentioning that "writing plays, novels, poems, and all manner of such-like vapouring and vapourish schemes are floating in my head" and giving "an account of my own confused head." Discussing Stoddart's visit with the Lambs, and reprimanding her for her "certain want of dignity in action," citing her acceptance of a book from the old Justice. Continuing the letter on "Friday" (the 21st), contemplating Stoddart's recent proposal of marriage from Mr. White and imploring her "do not allow yourself to see, or in any way renew your acquaintance with, William [Hazlitt?], nor do not do any other silly thing of the kind." Continuing the letter on "Feb. 21" (i.e., 22), discussing a farce recently written by Charles. Referencing Coleridge's travels in Italy.
