Summary
Begging Maupertuis not to disclose his involvement in the arrest of August Grischow (Euler's last letter to Maupertuis, MA 3872.19, may have led to Grischow's arrest on the charge of attempting to leave Frederick II's service without permission); volunteering to question Grischow if his part in the arrest is kept secret; pointing out that if Grischow had decamped, he (Euler) would have been suspected because he was on good terms with the Russian Academy.
