Summary
Discussing his translation of Maupertuis's Figure de la Terre (which had just been published). Expressing surprise that the principle criticism of the work was written by Maupertuis himself. Discussing an extremely interesting letter Koenig had received from Voltaire, reporting that he has left King Solomon [i.e., Frederic the Great] because of his love for the queen of Sheba [i.e., Madame du Chatelet]. Criticizing Madame du Chatelet's recent Institutions de Physique (1740).
