Stating that Otho Stuart (a London theatrical manager) has offered to give £200 to a charity if Maugham can prove that any of his plays have been produced without "any considerable alterations, suggested or made by the manager or stage manager." Hoping that Boucicault can attest that no alterations were made to Mrs. Dot. Signed "W. S. Maugham."
