Summary
Reporting that he is "very much disappointed" in the table Johnson sent because "it is hideous & vulgar"; discussing the "living room arm-chairs" and noting that he has "had a very disturbing letter from Macy's which directly contradicts [Johnson's] statements"; telling him that Macy's says the chairs were purchased a month apart; asking Johnson to take up the matter with Macy's; mentioning lampshades from Lord & Taylor; instructing him "not to buy anything further on [Maugham's] account or to send down anything" until Maugham has seen it.
