Summary
Discussing emancipation and women's suffrage. Stating: "Each victory for the Right gains a vantage ground for a new conflict with the wrong. The slave emancipated, we strike for the freedman's enfranchisement; the principle triumphant in this demands for woman her share in the sovereignty of the State; nor can we rest short of securing "equality before the law," for all the dwellers in our land, irrespective of color, race or sex."
