Summary
Apologizing for returning his letter, noting that she sent it because she did not wish "to keep a record of the dreadful storm." Fearing that Hearn will leave her now, stating "if I were an animal I would set my teeth in both your hands and hold you very fast, and I am a mind to bite you because you do not like me better than you possibly can." Asking him to "tolerate" her and to visit her.
