Summary
Thanking him for reports of the "great Exposition" (i.e., the 1900 Paris World's Fair) and for reports on Geneva schools. Discussing the education of his son and his intentions to travel to America before placing him in school. Discussing the possibility of Gullman publishing a volume of Hearn's work, and discussing English and American publishers. Noting that he will never write for papers and magazines because the rates are so low, stating "I had rather shovel coal," and disparaging the industry, further noting "I had rather print my books at my own expense, than ever write a book to order."
