Discussing the improbability of publishing his earlier works, and hoping to send him a new book soon. Describing the Prince Imperial's wedding, and giving a biographical sketch of the bride. Discussing the spreading pest (i.e., plague) pandemic, and noting that Gullman left China "just in time."
