Summary
Telling him about his trip to St-Genis; saying that his father awaits his instructions and that his mother needs his help to repair a wall; reporting on the affairs of his brother-in-law Guigard; noting that Paris is unrecognizable due to the increase of cars, the creation of new roads and river banks, and above all the changes in fashion; informing him of the departure of the squadrons of Rochefort and Toulon; telling him about the Emperor's circle and saying that Napoleon spoke to him twice on New Year's Day.
