Summary
Responding to a request from Ponsonby to help a lady; saying "I feel truly interested in the subject of thy letter for next to that which is evil in itself surely we are subject to no calamity so great as the one under which this Lady is suffering. I should think it a case where much may be done but as I have given my attention a little to the treatment of such cases I think before I recommend any person to attend to the lady in question I should be glad to see thee respecting it. Therefore if thou couldst conveniently call upon me here any time tomorrow I should be really pleased to see thee as I have rather an unusual hope that much good may be done as I expressed before - The best mode of coming is to turn at the Swan Inn at Stratford to West Ham church then take the road to the left of the church yard & proceed in a direct line to Plashet House. Our grounds begin with two cottages at the end of the Paddock and keeping by the paling brings to the house."
