Docketed "4th July 1796 Rob[ert] Burns Dumf[ries] returning the songs which he has revised / NB All the preceding & valuable letters of the poet were sent to Dr. Currie of Liverpool, as well as the songs contained in those letters, for publication int he posthumous works of Burns." And in pencil: "The last letter."
