Summary
Asking Moore to call earlier than planned the following the evening, and hoping to be able to give him a completed chapter for their collaborative novel "A Comedy of Masks." Discussing the possibility of declaring his feelings for Adelaide Foltinowicz, mentioning that "my condition is transparently obvious to everybody concerned, and that the Daomozel (Adelaide) perfectly understands the situation." Noting that "it is merely an English tradition which assumes ... that a girl is not Amabilis when she is at her most amiable age," and wondering why he should "delay in putting a rather untenable situation easily right." Intending to "plainly declare [him]self" around April 13th, when "A Comedy of Masks" is completed and "which is also a Birthday." Mentioning that he does not believe in marriage, but that it is a price he is willing to pay "ten times over" rather than one day regretting that he did not declare himself.
