Describing his voyage and arrival in France. Thanking him for the letter he received upon arrival, noting that he also had letters from Lionel Johnson and Missie (Adelaide Foltinowicz). Mentioning that although he is enjoying his visit, he is beginning to think "that it is not good for a man to be alone" and that he is "appalled at the notion of spending 2 more days" there. Continuing the letter on Wednesday, and describing an encounter and the weather.
