Discussing a selection of plaques (of the child actress Minnie Terry), asking Moore to take him to the store displaying them, thinking he may "be able to summon up energy for the selection." Suggesting Moore read "Le Rouge et Le Noir," "Premier Amour" and "Le Lys dans La Vallée," and stating "the three above-named masters are responsible for the evolution of H[enr]y James."
