Summary
Telling Collis that he has no objection to having his notes included as footnotes in Collis's biography "provided no allusion to them appear on the title page or in the advertisements"; saying that "the reviews will give them [the footnotes] all the publicity [Shaw] can ... consent to"; noting that the photograph "is not suitable for publication in a serious critical study"; warning Collis to "be very careful to keep up the dignity of [his] book." With a postscript suggesting that "the pugilistic business" ought to be omitted because "it does not really illustrate your point."
