Summary
Noting that he has sent Moore a copy of volume 2 of his Madame de Viole, asking for criticisms and comments, especially on the style and moral tone of the work. Discussing plans for Saturday, proposing a visit to the Old Masters or a matinée at the Royalty, and referencing French politics. Discussing a visit to the theater the previous evening, which ended when Dowson "reached Woodford at about 9.00 this morning, a most incongruous looking creature, in full dress, just as people were beginning to start townwards." Briefly disparaging nine out of ten married women, and discussing plans to fix a rendezvous soon. Mentioning "I feel very bored -- ennuyé to the last degree: that is my only excuse for boring you with this aimless epistle. I want to reduce you to the same condition as myself. Good-bye. Write soon. I feel rather drunk. I am very much bored. Au revoir."
