Summary
Accepting Hansard's offer and the offer made by Hansard on behalf of Macrone, in which Macrone offers Dickens £100 for the Second Edition [of Sketches by Boz]. Noting that Dickens "will sign these two agreements together, but not one without the other." Discussing his disagreement with Macrone, noting that Hansard knows nothing of the situation and that Dickens "decline[s] entering into any negociation with Mr. Macrone having reference to any other engagements ... so long as that misunderstanding remains in its present state."
