Summary
Saying he has shown the recipient's last letter to Mr. Dickens; stressing that they do not regard the recipient as "a speculator"; discussing the recipient's visit to Tavistock House; explaining that the long voyage, great fatigue, and lengthy absence from England make Dickens unable to go on an American tour; noting that these reasons are "not [meant] as a bargaining challenge to you to make another" offer.
