Telling her about his idea to "make a journey right though France in a cabriolet, driving ourselves, to a certain wonderful district called the Pyrenees" and then to write an account of the journey for publication; saying he thinks it makes more sense to buy the horse and carriage for such a journey; noting that he would not have Wilkie [Collins] "know about it for the world"; informing her that he sent his Eye-witness papers to Sampson Low for publication; discussing how economically they [Charles and Kate Collins] are living.
