Summary
Telling her that he has run out of money and needs a check for £10 to pay his hotel bill and his passage home; noting that he can live in Paris for "a long time upon ... credit" and then "go into a 'spunging house'" if his father refuses to send the money; complimenting his mother while interspersing additional directions about the check; noting that her account of his younger brother "Charley is very unsatisfactory": "he seems to have more chance of becoming a member of the Royal Academy of Dancing at Paris, than of the Royal Academy of Arts at London."
