Describing his activities in France, including frequenting gardens, theatres, and cafés and visiting Versailles and the Louvre; giving his opinion of the art at Versailles and the Louvre; noting that Charles Ward "was most horrifically bedbugged" on their first night in Paris but "has changed his room and escaped further noctural visitation"; asking her to write to a Mr. Antrobus "to ascertain the utmost extension of leave of absence" he will allow Collins; commenting on a night at the Opera where he saw Othello; giving more details of their journey from Calais to Paris.
