Summary
Discussing the mental health of Severn's "D.P.," John Ruskin, asking Severn who the "mercenary people" she says Ruskin "wishes to break off" from, assuming she means "J.A. and G. and their families," and noting that "if so there is a wonderful change." Expressing thankfulness that Severn did not marry and Irishman, and noting that Ruskin's "irritation may not be a bad sign [as] it sometimes means recovery."
