Probably written over two days (Swett notes that "it is Wednesday now" (i.e. 18 December) and that she was unable to complete the letter on the 17th because "company came in yesterday and remained till dinner time."
Signed "ever devotissima Mammina."
Written on stationery with "Lucia" elaborately embossed in gilt. Envelope with postmarks (marked Firenze) addressed to Mrs. Arthur Severn, Brantwood, Coniston, Lancashire, Inghilterra; back flap has "Lucia" elaborately embossed in gilt.
