Summary
Commiserating with Severn about her "dreadful and even terrific anxieties," concerning John Ruskin, imploring her to "telegraph for [her] husband" as his "presence may immediately have a calming influence." Reminding Severn that "the former nurse from London said he had never seen a case so dangerous," and discussing Ruskin's new "violent attacks." Hoping that Severn has decided what to do with her children, as "there is always most danger of contagion when the attack is going off." Relating to Severn that "there has been a feeling abroad for some time ... that if at any time [Ruskin] should be beyond his own control, [Severn] would be most in danger."
