Summary
Alluding to Ruskin's recent visit to Bassano. Asking Severn to not let her Di Pa (Ruskin) know, but that Swett is "very sorry about his visit here, all the more that he had expressed his intention of remaining with [the Alexanders] all the time he spent in Italy," noting that "his change of feeling was great and sudden after he received some letters," and acknowledging that they "shall probably never meet again."
